Didn't work under Bush. I can recall that argument being made back then. It does seem pretty easy to pay for and Iran has to be cheaper than running both Afghanistan and Iraq...for now. So I guess it's an even more viable argument financially speaking. That being said, I think Americans are generally disillusioned it's ever gonna happen. Obama got away with fumbling the bag intentionally and then things kept getting worse. America has dudes in the streets killing and disappearing people, things are that far on the back foot rn.
