Off My Chest
RULES:
I am looking for mods!
1. The "good" part of our community means we are pro-empathy and anti-harassment. However, we don't intend to make this a "safe space" where everyone has to be a saint. Sh*t happens, and life is messy. That's why we get things off our chests.
2. Bigotry is not allowed. That includes racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, and religiophobia. (If you want to vent about religion, that's fine; but religion is not inherently evil.)
3. Frustrated, venting, or angry posts are still welcome.
4. Posts and comments that bait, threaten, or incite harassment are not allowed.
5. If anyone offers mental, medical, or professional advice here, please remember to take it with a grain of salt. Seek out real professionals if needed.
6. Please put NSFW behind NSFW tags.
That's true, those people are something else. I guess I'm just trying to convince myself they aren't all bad...
I think there can be tolerance of those not like you while still having strict traditional moral views but it is a delicate balance that most arent introspective enough to achieve. Having a particular moral view while acknowledging that well meaning people can have a different and don't deserve destruction for disgreeing is definitely possible but when you add in the persecution complex of the Evangelicals the idea that everyone without their moral code wants them dead drives them to insanity, violence, and authoritarianism while delusionally thinking it is all self defense.
If it makes it any better, most are just insecure people who can't figure out how to be happy, and need something to blame for it. It's not really so much "I hate this group," more of "I feel like my life isn't going the way I want and things are scary, so I need a scapegoat" :/
