I didn't know of this game but I know and love Jung Freud (she's from Hideaki Anno and Studio GAINAX's first anime "Gunbster", or under its original title, "Toppu wo Nera".

Well, while Trigger was founded by former GAINAX animators, especially Hiroyuki Imaishi, who had worked on Evangelion but really made a name for himself by directing Gurren Lagann, Hideaki Anno had left earlier to found studio Khara. Now, as far as I know Imaishi and Anno might both be comrades, tho I wouldn't necessarily say that of every former GAINAX member.
I just can't accept any explanation for Trigger's output other than the fact the whole studio must be red or black. All they make is extremely obvious agitprop about revolution. Even Little Witch Academia is agitprop.
