It was a wake-up call for America. In January, Donald Trump took the oath of office, declared himself “saved by God to make America great again” and issued a barrage of executive orders. In the ensuing months the US president and his allies moved at breakneck speed and seemed indomitable.

But as 2025 draws to a close with Trump struggling to stay awake at meetings, the prevailing image is of a driver asleep at the wheel. Opinion polls suggest that Americans are turning against him. Republicans are heading for the exit ahead of congressional contests next November that look bleak for the president’s party.

“He came into office and, like a blitzkrieg, was violating laws and the constitution,” said Larry Jacobs, director of the Center for the Study of Politics and Governance at the University of Minnesota. “The American political process is slow-moving and so he was able to do things that were extraordinary.

“But this is a guy whose legacy may well be the political collapse of Republicans in this era. Put another way, rather than asking who is going to be the inheritor of the Trump mantle and the so-called Maga movement, we may be talking in a year or so about which candidates can escape the odious distinction of having been connected with Trump.”

I love how the 'alienated' group is both so large that they're blamed for her loss even now a year later but also so small that you're arguing they're fringe beliefs that weren't worth appealing to. This is a tactic straight out of the fascist playbook, but I'm not surprised to hear that from someone who refers to Gaza as a "terrorist shithole" as if all those innocent men, women, and children locked in a literal cage deserve to be blown into a red mist just for existing.

These are such radical fringe beliefs that governments around the world have been implementing laws banning support for Gaza. Trump cracked down on universities across the country because they're so fringe. The UK banned clothing showing support for Palestine because so few people are doing it. The ICC released arrest warrants for Netanyahu because they're a fringe organization. It all makes so much sense 🙄

Low voter participation was the real winner off the election, turns out more people don't care to vote at all.

The turnout for the '24 election was the second highest in recorded history, so you're just talking out of your ass here. Furthermore non-voters wouldn't have swayed the outcome at all. https://www.npr.org/2025/06/26/nx-s1-5447450/trump-2024-election-non-voters-coalition

I just said I can't understand given a binary outcome you chose the worst and most obvious one. Like it's a really easy thought process.

There's a lot you don't seem to understand. Perhaps consider that it isn't really a binary choice and both of the options were the worst ones. Maybe consider that we're a nation with hundreds of millions of people and that two darlings dictated to us by two private organizations aren't the extent of possibilities.

We're confident in your Jill Stien Votes in 2028 as im as confident a non-voters not gonna vote.

Now the strawman argument? Who said anything about Jill Stein?

We're all slaves to Russian sponsored partisanship. Yay

You say as you spew a bunch of propaganda.

Conclusion: GEONOCIDE JOES FAULT

But I thought these were just fringe beliefs from a tiny minority of people that had no effect on anything?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voter_turnout_in_United_States_presidential_elections#cite_note-:0-8

Here's a nice little spreadsheet that actually covers the voter participation. It really helps that they made 20 million voters ineligible, and the voting age population grew allowing for that high turnout number. Percentage wise it was slightly above average when it comes to participation of voting age people. Furthermore 100 million non-voters is who you try to attract during elections, not the 2 million crazies that vote 3rd party.

Lmaooo im just skim reading this and second highest in recorded history. Bro gtfoh. is that by voter participation or due to the fact the country's population and eligible voter base was the highest it's been in recorded history? Im not gonna read the rest of the shit because I literally credit the non-voters for winning the election. I just pointed fun at the 1.5% of the country that voted 3rd party on some fringe issues that you made up in your imagination. Now go ahead and type more disingenuous bullshit aint no one gonna read. Voter participation vs turn out lol. tough to differentiate these concepts I know.
