The Democrats are the carrot and the Republicans are the stick. You need both for the duopoly to function as a form of domestic counterinsurgency. The Democrats played their role brilliantly in the George Floyd uprising. But Democrats as the carrots completely dampened any revolutionary tempo the masses had and brought confusion among people. This was when you started seeing protest police popping up and how "fuck the police" got watered down to "abolish the police," which was further watered down to "defund the police" until it got to the point where police funding increased under Biden.
