President Donald Trump wants to eliminate HOME Investment Partnerships Program, and House Republicans overseeing federal budget negotiations did not include funding for it in their budget proposal. Experts and state housing agencies say that would set back tens of thousands of future affordable housing developments nationwide, particularly hurting Appalachian towns and rural counties where government aid is sparse and investors are few.

Of course! It's because poverty is a personal moral failing in the United States of America.

Somebody go get the French and have them show us how to properly riot.

We already did that. It's how America was born. A bunch of grumpy rich upper class white dudes were pissed off about even more grumpy rich upperery class white dudes

So we asked the French to help fuck with them on a massive scale.

The French were all about it.

It’s because poverty is a personal moral failing in the United States of America.

I've noticed that when someone talks about everyone getting more vacation and a shorter work week, etc., that so very many people, even those in the working class, balk at this notion.

The circular reasoning seems to be that somehow, only those that somehow accrued enough wealth are the ones that deserve time off - the most parasitic idle rich are the ones that "deserve" leisure. Everyone else, due to the moral failing of being not-a-decamillionaire+, if they are lucky, has to work at least 40+ hours and be glad that they even get 2 weeks of vacation some form of health insurance, and praise Jeebus that they are not homeless or working 2-3 jobs, and/or "gigs" and "side-hustles" just to fucking pay the bills.

I mean, I get why the parasitic idle rich class, most especially if they just inherited their wealth, would parrot this kind of thinking. The fact that so many others parrot this shit is a testament to the unending amounts of propaganda and how well it fucking works. I cannot tell you how many times I've heard someone say, "well, that's just class warfare, d000d" to even the most matter-of-fact observations about how ridiculous this system is...
