Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.
7. No duplicate posts.
If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.
All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

No one wasn't arguing that Israel is a democracy.
I understand you have personal stake on the subject and rest assured most people support Palestine, but realise you are being extremely passionate and making straw man and saying more bollocks.

The party that ruled in Israel was democratic socialist.
I don't know what is with downvotes for stating facts. Either people don't know what democratic socialism is, or socialists probably want to forget that bit of history that Israel used to be left and don't want to be associated with it.
Your definition of left is off, that's why you're being downvoted. Israel was established on over 500 destroyed Palestinian villages and ethnic cleansing of half the population with the open intention to colonize the entire land.
Read some non colonial history books before you complain about Internet points.
And the Bolsheviks are authoritarians and still considered left. North Korea call themselves Democratic People's Republic of Korea and considered left as well despite being ruled by a dynasty. What's your point? Do you even know what democratic socialism means? Lemmy, of all people should know, what that means. Sorry but your personal bias is clouding your judgement and reading comprehension.

My point is clear, you can't call a system that gives all rights and privileges exclusively to a minority while openly oppressing the majority Democratic socialist.
How can you have social ownership of anything when over half the population isn't allowed that ownership? Do you know what the words you're using mean?
