Well obviously you're half joking, aluminium is the communist one, especially is AliExpress is anything to go by.
Well this makes me sad; iron is one of my favorite elements
I was half watching a video and it was something about the state having requisitioned everyone's gold and silver towards a war effort. So everyone just left with iron. And so it came to represent the German Spirit of being useful, un attractive, simple, common etc. And ever since then Germans and Nazis luv iron.
