I was thinking about this recently as I learned that a couple of public figures engaged in extramarital affairs, and I just wasn't getting outraged because they were engaging with consenting adults. I should be upset about it but at this point so many prominent people have been getting in trouble for severe abuse of power, rape and pedophilia that I'm too jaded to get upset over someone I don't know cheating on their partner.
