that sounds really frustrating. People are the worst! What kind of sign do you think would actually help in your situation?
The sign I use is taking the dang crutches with me, even if I mostly don't need them. It sucks but people magically get the message that way.
I mean, we put a shit ton of effort into the radioactivity sign.
We don't need to go that deep for a sign used by an ongoing country, but it's something that warrants a couple studies to see what makes the most sense and then just rolling with that.
Like, it's not starting from scratch, we've all seen those signs at a doctor's office about pain level.
But something that communicates pain/limited mobility without a physical interpretation.
Like, "green means go" isn't anything intrinstic, and any connection red has with "stop", for some people they get "flee, fight, or fuck".
So it's not impossible to teach everyone the same abstract connection, just no short term fix.
I'm gonna pretend to be blind next time.
