Someone pointed out that IMU's power is a lot like othelo. It's got the same name "reversi", and some of the giants also flipped because they were in between dory and brogy.
Also, idk how much this is just from the translation, but Imu says that "the demon is the very form existence was fated to assume".
I think that's gonna be core to the ideological conflict between the ancient kingdom and Imu. Like Imu probably wants to turn everybody into a demon, which would make them immortal, but also Imu's slaves. Maybe. Idk.
Oh that's an awesome detail! So Luffy can theoretically turn everyone back since he's playing white. I wonder if Imu's powers will be game related?
If Imu can turn anybody into a demon, maybe that means all the Celestial Dragons are contracted too and Imu only cares about them because of classism.
I think there's a good chance. If so, I wonder what game that whole pulling out a shotgun thing is from. That and teleportation.
