Just when you think Chris Roberts' retirement fund program brrrrrrrrrrrr couldn't get anymore absurd, they manage to surprise. Even the so-true long time backers thought it was going too far.

Witkin then claimed the reason CIG pulled the trigger too fast on flight blades is because the developer is having a busy year. "We're pushing 11 patches this year instead of 4. We’re crushing more bugs than ever, building more exciting content, moving faster than ever to make the Persistent Universe a better experience for everyone, and in moving that fast, we missed a step."

morshupls Folks, we totally overlooked the monetization factor of this soon to be released new nickel and dime scheme.

This is the thing they're upset about? Not...everything else so far?

"I'm fine with them not delivering on anything, and overpromising and never delivering, I'm fine with them charging me money for parts of the game that will never appear, I'm fine with the best ships being the most expensive, and therefore pay to win, but THIS pay to win system goes too far!"

I have a coworker who's into SC, though he only bought the base "get the game if it releases and can play early access now" pack, and I'm not that surprised. There are a decent number of people who just think the game is neat and aren't bothered by the overall future game being P2W because, so long as the game doesn't exist now, there's no actual proof that it'll be pay to win in the future.
