When you phrase it this way it really feels like some sort of cosmic spiritual thing going on where we're releasing an ancient curse upon ourselves. Man kind laughs in the face of death by killing it again in a venial sacrifice in which it declares itself as god over nature... Only you be poisoned by blind hubris.
