How is it wrt tedium compared to Long War, which imo often felt long for the sake of length itself?
It is incredibly tedious, micromanagey, many confusing and/or obscure mechanics. I wouldn't say its long for the sake of being long, but in the later game the micromanagement required gets a little ridiculous in my experience.
Still scratches a hard sci-fi itch that I haven't found from a game in a long time.

If you're looking for someone who plays extremely well/efficient and edits their content so its easier to watch than just watching someone play a spreadsheet simulator, I'd go with PerunGamingAU. I think he's considered one of the technically best Youtubers that make content by the community and he cuts out the long boring parts.
