Titled "An Urgent Conversation with the American People," the livestreamed discussion comes ahead of Congress' return to session on Monday.

A statement released by both officials' offices said in part, "Republican leaders have made clear their intention to use the coming weeks to advance a reckless budget scheme to President Trump's desk that seeks to gut Medicaid, food assistance and basic needs programs that help people, all to give tax breaks to billionaires. Given what's at stake, these could be some of the most consequential weeks for seniors, kids and families in generations."

According to the statement, Rep. Jeffries and Sen. Booker plan to speak to shared American values and the nation's religious and moral underpinnings, and how the budget bill opposes these beliefs. They also plan to affirm to Americans watching the livestream that their voices matter, especially in this moment in time.

I never made those accusations.

Did you vote or not?

Still can’t access the newest comments to reply directly to them.

Of course I voted, you stablegenius. I only told you that to see where you were trying to go. You are trying to claim a snooty highroad over me. I voted. I always vote. You have severely lost credibility by attempting this highroading. You have NOTHING over me. Do better.

So, you voted for whom?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Our conversation appears to be too far down the thread for the newest comments to be accessible. I see no relevance of my vote in 2024. So I’m going to tell you NO I DID NOT VOTE IN THE 2024 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION just to see where you’re trying to go with this.

Well, an intelligent person would know that Michigan is a swing state and therefore their vote very much matters. An intelligent person could also do the very easy math and understand that not voting would give Trump a greater chance to win. And if an intelligent person chose not to vote against Trump, they would know the outcome would be in his favor, and they would be okay with that.

So, if you aren’t a Trump supporter… then you’re just not intelligent.

Ps. I know you’re going to hate that logic, and the self-realization that comes with it, but I just want you to know that I only take issue with your political stance, and that otherwise you are probably a quality person and a great teacher.

What an annoying question. My state of MI reelected Gov. Whitmer two years ago by >450k votes, yet somehow dotard flipped our blue state by a margin just beyond a legal recount. I do not believe my state’s 2024 presidential election results are legitimate. My vote did not matter.

I’m sorry that you find it an annoying question, but that’s rather relative. As far as the legitimacy of the Michigan result, that is not relevant to the question.

Are you saying that you did not vote in the presidential election?
