Frankly they deserve all the nonsense the game industry is throwing at em. Turning some games into more of a grind and a second job rather than an enjoyable past time, horrible optimization, microtransactions, unfinished games and they get mad at x group being in a game. They'll put in the crunch time hours trying to squeeze out whatever fading joy they'll get from it and they will find none.

This is so accurate. I played path of exile 2 and it's regarded as the second best in the genre. It's exactly as you described. somewhere underneath all the bullshit is a good game but gamers are too checked out to realize they're literally just feed for the machine. They can't even try to make well thought out criticisms (forget actions) instead of dancing-roach (asmongold) type crying about women in games being ugly. I mean they love steam which takes a 30% cut of all games for fuck all. It's crazy. Even with the steam deck I don't see how this isn't highway robbery. It's digital rentseeking

Exactly. And on top of ALL THIS how many times do you see them criticize the worker treatment in the industry? The Activision blizzard systematic abuse of women? Ubisoft a quarter of the staff witnessed misconduct? Nah? Hell I've seen more of these fucking worms praise the crunch time and this behavior than condemn it which is par for the course.

Gamers don't even seem to understand things that negatively affect them. I can't even imagine them caring about other people. all they want is their game and don't care at all beyond that. I mean it's like what Norman Finkelstein said about Kamala Harris. That she's always laughing. But what's so funny? The worlds on fire. Same mentality. Except they aren't laughing they're gaming.

Because of this I don’t think I’ve touched a triple A game since 2019.
