do instances who log all their users IPs and use discord bots to scrape posts and comments violate their users privacy and safety?

talking abt lemmy.world for those unaware

does this happen if i utilise a link to lemmy.ml as the instance, which then views a comm that's on lemmy.world?

i'm just trying to keep my liberalism in check

edit: oh wait I misread, I'm a dummy - I thought you were saying that linking to it was dangerous
