There is 0% chance he will allow the oil/gas to stop flowing. The visit is just like his meeting with Zelensky. It's to manufacture a reason for his aggression. Once the country is cut in half we're divided and lose access to goods from both coasts. The eastern portion would be restricted to cheap goods from Asia except through him. Economically we'd take a huge hit, and it would be easy for him to mop up the remainders.

He's coming to Alberta for a G7 meeting (possibly). And I wouldn't be so pessimistic about the future - Canada is pretty unified in maintaining our sovereignty.
