With how loosy-goosy the US is with weapons purchasing? There's a chance.
There's also a chance that Musk's security forces will spray bullets into the crowd from sniper positions.
If that ever happened, itd push the guillotines out overnight.
Sure it would. Just like all the other "if this happens, the guillotines will come out" events where that didn't occur when it happened.
I don't disagree with you that society as a whole has become spineless. People who stand up in defense of anything morally correct are rarely backed up anymore.
That being said, the scenario you put forth is a huge leap from the slow suffocation that is currently happening. A billionaire/CEO/tyrant/shadowpresident spraying bullets into an innocent crowd is a huge leap that would be neigh impossible to not have people lose their shit over.
Your average billionaire? Sure. Elon? He would probably enjoy it and then make jokes about it on Twitter.
