Théophile Ferré was a leader of the Paris Commune who was executed by the French government on this day in 1871. Ferré personally authorized the execution of the archbishop of Paris and was the first of 25 Communards to be executed.
Little is known about Ferré's early life, before his participation in the Paris Commune. After Paris was seized by revolutionaries in March 1871, Ferré served on the Commune's Committee of Public Safety, a body given extensive powers to hunt down enemies of the Commune.
On April 5th, the Commune passed a decree that authorized the arrest of any person thought to be loyal to the French government in Versailles, to be held as hostages. Prominent figures arrested included a Catholic priest Georges Darboy and the archbishop of Paris. The Commune hoped to exchange their hostages for Louis-Auguste Blanqui, a revolutionary and honorary President of the Commune, imprisoned by the state.
Following the events of the "Bloody Week", in which the French government summarily executed many suspected Communards, Ferré authorized the execution of several hostages, including Darboy and the archbishop.
After the resistance of the Commune collapsed, Ferré was captured by the army, tried by a military court, and sentenced to death. On November 28th, 1871, he was shot at Satory, an army camp southwest of Versailles. He was the first of twenty-five Communards to be executed for their role in the Paris Commune.

You can or at least could download a free copy off of Bethesda website. Daggerfall is more fun if you think of it like fantasy Animal Crossing tho
Just got it on steam thanks for the heads up that it was free, honestly now I'm torn on starting that one again vs diving into morrowwind
I think they might be tied for my favorite elder scrolls games. Oblivion was OK and Skyrim fucking sucks. I like Daggerfall for maxing out on open and being really really able to role-play, as I said, it's like fantasy animal crossing. I played a shopkeeper for a minute one time. Did on play through as Dale Gribble where I'd only go on quests that involved exterminating rats and other small pests, was fairly weak but has a bow cause it's the guns of the time and a blindness spell as my pocket sand. On the downside it really sucks if you play it like a normal rpg. The dungeons are THE WORST, quests are mostly boring and while the game is huge it's mostly procedurally generated wasteland. It's most fun to me to just play as some kind of guy you made up beforehand until you get bored, like playing a bit of gta just to mess around for a bit. Morrowind is more of a normal rpg but it breaks away from trad fantasy stuff in favor of some real creative world building stuff and it's just a generally different version of tamriel that was a lot more creative and a lot less focus group friendly than now. Elder scrolls used to be fucking wacky.
You're really selling me on these ngl, I know skyrim gets hyped so much but nah playing the poplar games ain't my style I like making my own fun too and liking what others dismiss.
Oblivion is fun as hell also, but in the same way the best bad movies are. They bit off a bit more than they could chew trying to make realistic NPCs and the results are then guards who will chase you through the more or less literal gates of hell to fine you for jaywalking. It's also a fun game in it's own weird little early ps3 kinda way.
Skyrim is so fucking boring and normal and boring
I miss the days before Capitalism reduced every last game studio to slop.
