The Liberal Party is Bolsonaro's party. Back in 2006 it fused with the minor PRONA Party (non-ironic Fascist Party that was never popular due to how aggressive it was).

They used a minor party who were just neoliberals who supported Lula, and to show that the Workers' Party could do coalition with Center-Right parties. They were involved with corruption scandals.

In 2022, after Bolsonaro failed to create a party (I heard it's very difficult in Brazil), he joined this Party turning it into a full Far-Right party (with a minor neoliberal faction). Bolsonaro did a bunch of fraud, and used public funds to help elect 90 seats for this party, yet he lost the elections and the Liberal Party is bad at doing opposition because they were never suppose to be any other thing than to just help Bolsonaro do a coup in 2023.
