And also Trump promised he'd never use Twitter again. So obviously he's back on, despite the great success of his own platform

Trump has never kept a promise in his life. His words are literally meaningless. The fact that anyone follows him is preposterous. Yet, here we are.
He did that months ago. Trump just had a noncompete with Truth Social that ran out which restricted him from posting anywhere else.

The ban was reversed months ago, that's correct. Trump just recently started posting though. Iirc his deal with truth social was that he could post to other platforms, but he needed to wait 6 hours after posting on trutg before doing so.
He's waiting for the 6 month mandatory period to expire, when he will dump ihs DJT stock and make an absolute killing. Maybe finally become an actual billionaire.
Then he will be back on shitter full time. Payoff for fElon will be more users on his site, while Truth Social folds.
