Skyrim is a great entry-level RPG/open-world game for people who haven't really explored the genre. Normies absolutely loved that game and I know many people who got into much better games after getting enamored with Skyrim. It's honestly fine and does certain things really well.
A hotter take (and one that more people need to accept) would be that Oblivion isn't good and never was. I actually think Skyrim is better as an overall game lol
Actually this is also something I'm only seeing in recent years, like RPG Codex dorks complained back in the day, but I'm only seeing this complaint filter down recently. I never had a problem in my 300 odd hours, it's very fucky but not a dealbreaker?
Sorry Todd wants you to bonk stuff with big sword, speech and mercantile are cancelled everybody go home
I will defend Oblivion to my dying breath.
This certainly has nothing to do with it being my first TES game or first real open world RPG :3
So it's like Final Fantasy Mystic Quest? I dunno though, my issue is I think Skyrim only primes people for more zero effort slop. If you play Skyrim you're not gonna be ready to create a character in Fallout 1 or w/e, since mechanically Skyrim does not have character creation...
Worse than Skyrim I mean it has its problems but I'd much rather be bouncing around the Shivering Isles or doing the Painted World questline...
