Meta-gaming is a fucking blight, death to America
Used to have a friend who did this, every game we played they tried to find the most optimal way to play and once received they got bored because USUALLY the most effective thing is just to do an endless loop of something basic.
Which was funny when we played Warframe, because in that game the most optimal way IS to do all the flippy cool shit. Meanwhile they were hiding behind a box using a sniper rifle, because it was the most effective weapon in all other 3rd person shooters
incredibly tiresome
Did they not look up what was most effective and then frisbee themselves across the map in a minute avoiding most encounters? (sounds shit either way :/ Why would you do that to yourself)
Nope, in fact I TRIED to teach them how to do the parkour stuff, but they thought it was just stuff you did to look cool and thusly considered it beneath them on defense missions.
Meanwhile I'm going 350 mph around the defense target impaling dudes into walls and actually ENJOYING MYSELF

They played sniper rifle only in ME3 multiplayer too, except when they got the Geth Colossus, then it was nothing but that
defense is just an old and bad mission type tbh, designed ages ago when the game actually kinda was about shooting from cover
newer missions like disruption and cascade are made for the game as it is now, and are way better about promoting both combat and movement
i dont know what those are
i last played in 2018
my sense of time is beyond fucked, I wonder if disruption existed back then
