Got snitched on by a coworker over some leftover chips and am feeling really bummed about it (hexbear.net)

They were all but guaranteed to be thrown out and wasted, so after asking if anyone else wanted any, I took them home in a ziploc for me and my friend.

Apparently didn't sit right with someone, and walked in today and got scolded/job threatened over it. Over some leftover BBQ chips.

Lack of solidarity and brown nosing management man...sucks. Just feel disappointed and let down.

Edit: Thank you all for the support and sympathetic comments, they helped me feel better than I did. I was pretty shaken at the time, but have calmed significantly since (albeit quite tired mentally and emotionally). I'm going to try and move on from the experience, though I may have an idea who the culprit is due to circumstantial evidence. I'll just be more cautious around them and the majority of my coworkers from now on. Wish I didn't have to be, but thems the breaks. Thx again <3

One thing I've learned working my first job: Don't tell anyone anything, because they'll tell someone else eventually.

No friends at work. No trust — just business.

You can even like your coworkers, but do not mistake a coworker for a real friend.

When one of you quits etc then you can start a real friendship, which is nice. But otherwise keep it cordial and don't get too personal. And don't gossip for the love of god.
