k-e-s-t-r-e-l... ok maybe it doesn't rhyme

been printing for 9 or so years now. it definitely comes in waves of both of those attitudes, but it also depends on your use cases. if you consider yourself a maker in any regard, it could be a tool you use daily. electronics parts, functional pieces, cosplay, and home goods are just a few of the categories i've used mine for.

3d printers can be super inexpensive to get into if you have the expendable income, especially compared to when i first started.

minecraft being on 1.21.11 (i think)

[QUESTION] nonstick cookware? (piefed.blahaj.zone)

novice at cooking here. know the basics and can make some decent tasting dishes without the need of a recipe, but not enough to know the full ins and outs of cooking.

since i moved out of my parents', i've been cooking with cheap pans pots and pans from ikea, and while they do the trick for most of my cooking, i cannot for the life of me make decent eggs without them overcooking and sticking, butter/oil help a little bit but not consistently. the electric range is def a hurdle to learn coming from gas, but most of my other dishes seem to come out fine.

anyway, i've been looking into some decent pans that meet the following criteria:

  • nonstick without chemicals (teflon/PFAS/whatever)
  • induction burner compatible, as i plan on getting a burner at some point
  • (optional) comes in an 8in and 10in size
  • (optional) oven safe

from what i've seen so far the "Analon EverLast N₂ Carbon Steel" seems like what i'm looking for based on reviews but i also wanted to ask for people's opinions before making a purchase

no PPE, no hi-vis, no SIDA, who let them on the ramp?

other options besides graphene exist, like lineage OS that work on a ton of different phones. and sure graphene requires google hardware but nobody says you have to buy the hardware from google direct. buying used is different than buying from google

never, unless you count stick figures when i was a child

sucking at something is the first step to getting sorta good at something

i already have a tablet i use for watching videos and taking notes, and have wanted to get into doing art. so, i installed krita in the hopes of eventually getting some of the rare bursts of inspiration from my mind into a visual form.

just been messing around with learning the program, and i am fascinated with the fact that a few simple lines can translate into something that's actually recognizable. no idea where this piece is going to go and end up at, but hopefully i will stick with it

saw @tanisnikana@lemmy.world's photo here yesterday and i'm still pretty new to the city so it's nice finding new places to visit. i happened to wake up early for whatever reason this morning and decided to check it out, and it really is a nice view. any other spots to check out would be appreciated!

i'm not a professional photographer by any means, but i do want to get better, so i'm trying to take my camera with me whenever i can. out of ~80 pictures, there were only a few that ended up somewhat decent lol
