Amazing. Who would have thought that an idiot regressive trying to turn the clock back to the 50’s would be such an impediment to e/acc.

Also: I mean trump is still accelerationist, just not in the way (all) the e/accs necessarily want. For the e/accs only concerned about the tech side of things, trump is demonstrably decel. But trump is accelerationist for the cryptofascists.

if you, like me, were wondering what the point of that 25 hour non-filibuster filibuster by Booker was, here’s one potential answer.

Booker held a filibuster that wasn't a filibuster - and he scheduled it to let him avoid attending his own committee's probe of his Big Tech pals. […] Oh and Booker and Dems provided unanimous consent to advance a Trump nominee right after Booker's speech.

If scientific racism is an attempt to legitimise racism, then this is scientific great replacement theory… which is just racism anyway.

I’m pretty fucking tired of seeing all the ads for computers with integrated AI chips. You’re telling me you made an RV for the virtual dumbass and you want me to pay for it? Fuck off!

My computer crashed as I was writing a response. In short:

I think fedi existing and having the userbase it has is “victory” enough. Capitalism and fascism push us to think “winning” and “success” are the greatest thing to aspire to. To “win” over capitalism and fascism will require an unlearning and disavowal of those aspirations.

Oh yes thanks for the reminder.

For my research, the primary speedups from AI come from using chatGPT to speed up coding a bit and helping to write bureaucratic applications.

OpenAI’s current board consists of chief scientist Ilya Sutskever, Quora CEO Adam D’Angelo, former GeoSim Systems CEO Tasha McCauley, and Helen Toner, the director of strategy at Georgetown’s Center for Security and Emerging Technology. Unlike traditional companies, the board isn’t tasked with maximizing shareholder value, and none of them hold equity in OpenAI.

We're not like, your traditional company. We do small plates.

Instead, their stated mission is to ensure the creation of “broadly beneficial” artificial general intelligence, or AGI.

Thought they were trying to melt the ice caps tbh.
