If it works the way they promote, isn't it a good middle way and alternative to other options? If it is open source, we can check it how it really works. My opinion at the moment is, that they try better than a lot of others.

So this way a service the user wants to use could set automatically to child protected besides this app delivers a prove for more. This way also the big tech player could set into responsible way without collecting all your data to know if you are old enough?

I understand that also a education for all internet users is necessary and still a partly regulation of the big tech and others. I'm surprised that EU is going this router and really happy that it does not sounds like a surveillance system.

Any other Ideas how to solve the age check problem nowadays? And move the whole responsibility to the parents does not help. Also parents need help with all the stuff around to protect their children.

why not the official nextcloud app? Is this a limit from adminforge?

I have a hosted nextcloud instance from hetzner.de for around 5€/month with 2TB

I see AI Tools like you. but there are also a lot of people who like to do boring easy tasks…

There will come a point when AI helps massively in creating games. But It will take quiet a while until we can use this to play a game.

I guess this will eat up a huge amount of calculation power which now player wants to pay to play it regularly.

ok, I look into DConf. maybe this helps.

But I get it, that the most projects because of no or not much income, can’t jump onto this to improve their tools. Whereas I think usability is a big big feature for most people. Mostly better a low feature set easy to use instead of a big feature set which are not much people can use.

you right. reddit is just a good, easy to use forum, but this piefed here, too. That is what I like about it.

I see and feel what OP does. As a newbee to Linux (I guess, a lot in EU want to switch to Linux nowadays) it is really hard to learn which config file will how be used for which tool. As with the nature of Linux, that it has grown organically since years, plain text has been around since decades.

Are there any tools around to create config files easier? It is like programming without much knowledge and I guess a lot of "normal" users stick with Windows or Mac because of this.

it's not very surprising.... but maybe the EU can do more against it with clear evidence

I heared about it from r/BuyFromEU and I'm on the road to reduce the use of US services.
