If you really want to play games on the classic devices, consider checking out IPS screen mods that add a backlight to most models of gameboy. I’ve also seen rechargeable USB-C battery packs mods people install
This is one of my all-time favorite TV shows and I’m from the US. I watched the American pilot and his comments are spot on. It’s eerie and weird to watch. They tried too hard to perfectly recreate the original with American actors and it felt lifeless and uncanny. I’m really glad this never came to be and soil my love for this classic show. It might have grown into its own like The Office did, but I’m happy with how it turned out
This is very true. Fun game. Probably my favorite MMO, but probably not going to scratch the itch OP described. Races have negligible stat differences, classes do not have trees or talent points or ANY kind of build customization, and one character can freely change classes as often as they want while keeping all their gear and level. Once in a while the game lets you pick an absolutely pointless dialog option and otherwise you are a silent protagonist. Each class or job has a very specific way it is meant to be played and there is no room for deviation. You press the skills exactly when your job is supposed to and that’s that
Huge fan here. Been to maybe 12 of their concerts including the”Neverender” shows where they play an entire album
SSTB, IKsSE:3, and GAv1 are considered the band’s “holy trinity” by most fans, but there is plenty to love on every album. As you go to the later albums, the lyrics get less edgy and the sound gets less lofi, but the magic is still there. Year of the Black Rainbow is probably the least-liked album, but even that has some bangers like Shattered Symphony and Here We Are Juggernaut. The problem with YotBR is the mix isn’t great. I think people would like it a lot more otherwise. Their newest two albums are the start of a “new” story that I think will be 4 albums. Window of the Waking Mind is a fantastic album but a bit of a deviation from the norm. There’s a lot more electronic and pop rock sound to it, and the title track is like some kind of musical number.
I could rant for hours about what I love and like about the band. They’ve been my most played artist on Spotify every year that they’ve done the “Wrapped” thing and they have maybe less than half a dozen songs that I don’t like.
If you’re looking for more, there’s a ton to get into relating to the Amory Wars including comics and games. I love the fact that there’s a big story, but I will also say that if you peer too closely, you’ll notice that it doesn’t all make a lot of sense, but that’s ok. They also have some side projects out there or bands that they work closely with that you might like as well if you want to get more into the artists. Prize Fighter Inferno, Weerd Science, and Davenport Cabinet are all side projects of some of the main members (there’s also Fire Deuce, but that’s… something else). You could also check out LS Dunes and 3 which have some involvement from the members. And I can’t mention related bands without plugging Thank You Scientist
If you just want stuff that sounds similar to Coheed but isnt too heavy, check out Circa Survive or Mandroid Echostar
Hey, kid!
Me at 4am laying in bed thinking about exactly how I’m going to divvy up the $100M I’m left with after taxes in an imaginary lottery win
I’ve been watching some GPW3 gameplay, but I also would probably not be able to play it lol. I just beat Jedi: Survivor yesterday. I waited a while to pick it up because of all the performance issues and it really did run like crap, but at least I got it on sale and it was still quite fun.
I’ll probably either go back to Sea of Stars, which I only played for a couple hours so far, or maybe I’ll play The Messenger, which I bought at the same time in a bundle.
Also, with the release of the Rivals 2 Kickstarter, I’ve been playing a bit of Rivals of Aether with friends. It’s one of the greatest platform fighters out there, but I feel like it’s still very underrated
We always call our cat a dragon because she collects toys and paper bags into piles and lays on top of them like a dragon on her hoard. She’s also very possessive and quick to anger
If you don’t Rock and Stone, you ain’t going home
Oh cool. Kinda surprised it’s not a more common idea. But I’ve been thinking it probably wouldn’t be too hard to make your own if you have a 3D printer and know how to use it (I don’t and I don’t)
Would be a really fun thing to bring to D&D night
Sorry I don’t know the answer to your question (new Lemmy user here as well) but I gotta say, I had a Cybiko and thought it was so cool. I don’t remember getting much actual use out of it, but I remember the device fondly
