I just enjoyed the presentation and the amount of work that went into it. 🙂

Alright, team, let’s circle back and ensure we’re fully aligned on our north star objectives. We need to leverage synergy, engage in blue-sky thinking, and touch base on our pain points to drive mission-critical outcomes. But let’s not boil the ocean with unnecessary jargon - at the end of the day, we need to optimize our bandwidth for real, value-driven impact. If we keep moving the needle with this kind of thought leadership theater, we risk losing sight of our core competencies and drowning in a sea of meaningless buzzwords. Let’s pivot toward clear, actionable insights and sunset the overuse of strategic messaging before it becomes a blocker to true innovation. Instead of just playing the fast-follow game with every trending framework, let’s focus on original, high-impact execution that actually drives results.

~~Thoughts?~~ Chris, do you have any builds?

No?

Good. Then let's action this and drive it across the finish line!

Hey everyone! I'm on the hunt for some incredible story-driven games—ones that pull us into their world with gripping narratives, deep characters, and immersive gameplay. Some examples of what I'm looking for include the Homeworld series, the Horizon series, The Last of Us, some Indiana Jones or Tomb Raider games, etc. So I'm not too picky about the genre.

If you've played any unforgettable games with amazing storytelling, do tell! What games had you hooked from start to finish?

The diversity of Linux distributions is one of its strengths, but it can also be challenging for app and game development. Where do we need more standards? For example, package management, graphics APIs, or other aspects of the ecosystem? Would such increased standards encourage broader adoption of the Linux ecosystem by developers?

As the title states. Am looking for decent chest exercises I can do from home. I have exercise bands and some space available. Any recommendations from you experts?

First of all: congratulations. Seriously. This is awesome! Secondly: you designed the most Steampunk looking heart you could. Bravo, truly a capital marvel of fine craftsmanship.

Can't see anything I disagree with in her statements. Imo she's spot on. The near future looks even bleaker now.

Hello all,

after updating to Gnome 47.4 on openSUSE Tumbleweed, all my extensions are disabled and missing from the Extension Manager, even though they're still available in ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any solutions?

Edit: I can install extensions, even existing ones, and they show up again with all their previous settings. Until I logout. After a fresh login I get a vanilla Gnome experience again. The permissions of the extensions folder are fine (755). I'm stumped.

VirtualBox is ridiculously simple to set up and get virtual machines going. Shared folders, shared clipboard and much more are no issue.

But.

It eats resources. The installed virtual machines (VM) run relatively slow. What have you found to be feature comparable - and most importantly more resource-efficient - alternatives for running VMs under Linux?

Games which do not end friendships, but strengthen them. Games where working together works and loners fall behind.

Can be something simple like The Game or reach any complexity level. Coming to think of it, bring on the complexity. 🙂

I'm considering flashing my Xperia with this, since Sony officially supports it and my stock ROM stopped getting updates.

Any thoughts? Is there something I should consider before doing this? Do you have a better alternative? If so, why?

Am on the hunt for an offline screenshot tool with annotation capabilities because my usual options are failing me. Am on Tumbleweed with Gnome. Here’s what I’ve tried so far, and the issues I’ve run into:

  • Flameshot: Used to be my go-to, but sadly, it’s not working anymore.
  • Spectacle: Doesn’t launch at all.
  • Ksnip: Gives me a black screen while taking a screenshot.
  • Pensela (AppImage): Crashes on launch.
  • Shots: Refuses to launch.
  • Bonus: Annotely is web-based and works ✅

At this point, I’m out of breath trying to find something functional. I need something that allows for quick annotations (arrows, text, highlights, etc.) and is lightweight and reliable (Arrows with GIMP... 😮‍💨).

Anyone got recommendations or solutions?

Edit: using Wayland

If they can get it to work on non-Google devices, I will consider it. Right now Graphene compatibility is extremely limited. Besides, I basically have to give Google money to avoid Google.

🤪

How many times has this been posted now? Genuine question: why is this such a big deal?

Another example of a company making clear that we don't truly own the games we play on their platform.

there are limits

I am glad you have a moral centre.

But that is the capitalist way. A Redditor once wrote: "*Corporations have no morals, no ethics, no code of conduct, no feelings, no empathy, and zero accountability. They have one goal and one goal only: to increase profits at all costs."

Case in point: the climate crisis. Corporations are literally destroying their own home for a symbol of success that, like their products, is man-made: money. It is the ultimate pursuit of vanity.

Crazy, if you think about it for a moment.

Jup. It just says that "the malware was disguised as PDF and QR code readers".

Not helpful, Mashable. Not helpful at all.

It's almost as if companies have gone a bit overboard with advertising. Huh. Didn't see that coming...

To save you all a click and some time: the source says that the report is bogus.

TIL Godot is on Steam. Huh, will you look at that.

Online banks use this method. I am not happy with this either. It's government-regulated, so OK (sort of).

A social media site? No, thank you.
