I have no idea. Could be because you turned away or the movement attracted notice, or you were just directly in sight of the single brain cell.

That’s concerning. Fingers crossed that it’s all okay 🤞It’s also really poor that the assault wasn’t recorded. I’m hoping he gets a kick in the arse and winds up with a headache of his own.

Another good trick is to stand a front loading carrier on the back end and lower them in. It’s a bit harder for them to get straight out if you’re quick

It just sounds like a warm version of (usually chilled) hwachae

It’s over Raven! I have the high ground!

[-] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago

Ah yes. Melbcat loves shredding cardboard

[-] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago

That’s nuts. I’m glad you got out of there.

Really not good about the blow to the head though, I agree with everyone else to be very careful about that. Fingers crossed that nothing serious has happened.

Maybe a cardboard box to hide in and peep out of

[-] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago

Have you tried the bird videos? I’ve put them on for Melbcat before but she didn’t seem to be too interested

I used to like looking at them on walks but never dared to pick any for consumption. That’s a specialist skill and a high cost to being wrong.

I did once grow some of a safe variety from mycelium though (grow kit).

Ughhh. Why am I such a pack rat. I need to find the energy or the discipline to get more organised.

Might go through a storage bag of ‘nice’ (aka seldom worn) clothes and cull most of the dresses. Inexpensive Kmarget brands and possibly a little dated but they’re still fairly new and nice enough in style that they might be taken by somewhere that gives women clothes for work.

There are some gardening books about building garden beds but quite honestly I don’t think I’m physically up to diy right now. A friend’s kid might like to have them (grandpa could help).

Shredding of paperwork will continue.

I’m mentally earmarking some other things to sell.

Amazon is evil but I am not going to get around to sawing the litterboxes down… I managed to find some with a really low side entrance made for senior cats. Fingers crossed that helps.

We’re going back to the vet soon to get a urine draw to figure out whether these antibiotics are working.

Jelly has been in vogue lately, but consider custard too. (This is a bit more like a pastry cream but whatever.)

You can make them the night before and have trifle

I hate that this involves AI.

But it’s kind of hopeful to read when it feels like my individual efforts are worth nothing.

It says ‘January’ but I have no idea if it’s a link that updates to the current month when clicked. Oh well.

Popping it here anyway

Mavis String Bag Pattern (crochet) (motherbunch.wordpress.com)

The paper bags at the register tend to burst, and hooks/yarn can easily be found in op shops.

This pattern is a little fiddly for a learner but so far I’m managing alright.

Have you found a good bargain lately, made a repair, or figured out something that works for you?

This is also for any topic requests, suggestions, or tips that might not require their own thread.

It’s getting hotter. If your circumstances let you now might be the time to consider irrigation, drought resistant plants, and mulch. And maybe some wildlife water!

What do you have planned for your landscape, pots, patch, window box - or even the lone houseplant/cactus in your apartment?

Nagi's Big, Easy Pasta Salad (www.recipetineats.com)
submitted 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago) by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

This could be made in the evening when it’s cooler and then chilled overnight to have the next day. You could probably substitute cheaper cheese and olives. And use home grown basil.

Alternatively you could just boil pasta and toss it with a jar of pesto to pre-prepare a cold dinner or lunch
