a friend calls everyone dude, but they’re also super normal about it and check in with people to make sure they’re comfortable with the term and/or whether they have another they’d prefer

i am so so so glad that i have access to one, because building up the will to actually get on hrt was hard even with how few obstacles i had; i cannot imagine how challenging that would have been if my doctor had spent months or years interrogating me before anything could happen

a lot of it was not very good but also it was a movie with the moral being that only the power of trans lesbians can defeat conservatives and also gay people can fly and i think that’s pretty cool

yeah! (to your point about cis people not noticing) this is something referred to in media studies as a “textual wink,” usually in the context of queer analysis; when the author of the media includes something that looks benign to most audiences but not to a smaller (usually queer) audience it signals for them to pay attention to those aspects of the film and that there’s something else going on thematically, like trinity’s bit about “where that road ends” and morpheus’s “splinter in your mind” etc etc
