Here are some resources I took a look at that helped me get jumpstarted that are helpful: https://www.youtube.com/c/iOSAcademy, https://www.hackingwithswift.com/read/36/overview, https://github.com/signalapp/Signal-iOS

Also, unrelated to iOS, but I love Designing Intensive Data Systems by Martin Klepman. Is very helpful for designing large scale software including iOS.

Added more ways to access premium feature

  • 3 day free monthly trial ($.99 monthly fee)
  • Lifetime Price access to everything ($4.99 one time cost)

Thank you to those who mentioned about price. I appreciate it.

Yeah Apple prices everything - literally everything 3-5x more than everyone else. For example their developer license costs $99 compared to $25 for Google’s developer license. They also take a fat cut from developer in app sales.

They should be held to a higher standard IMO. 100% agree.

Amazing - glad to see indie developers getting the attention they deserve :)

Hi everyone,

Happy Holidays and Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate.

I'm a new app developer and started learning iOS a month ago. I've been trying to make an app every 2-3 days on something I'm passionate or interested in. Recently, I wanted to make was a fun kids friendly app for my cousins.

Recently, I've been spending a lot of time improving this app to be more engaging for kids.

I'm always looking for ways to improve the experience so feel free to give me any sorts of criticism / feedback. I am currently working on adding more audios for animal as well as adding an audio description for each animal. Also, tinkering around with the Rive framework to make more engaging visuals for kids.

Let me know what you think!

Please take a look and let me know what you think! https://apps.apple.com/us/app/discover-animal-sounds/id6471942184

Thank you!

Here are some updates I'm working on that should be released in a few weeks:

  • Interactive Animal Animations - "play with [x] animal which will make [x, y, z] sound depending on movement"
  • More Animals + variety of sounds

(Accidentally posted this on Saturday instead of Sunday so deleted that one and reposting again)

Yeah we really need these antitrust reforms - just look up how many / what subsidiaries Google, Amazon, Microsoft, etc. own. For example, Microsoft owns GitHub (biggest market share for CI / CD platform) and basically owns OpenAI (biggest market share for GPTs / AI).

Woah - how does this compare to Samsung / Pixel flagship cameras?

That's crazy... Do they have like a simple mechanism to detect this like if < .001ms?

Found this from my GF. When you send a message on a iMessage and hold down the "send arrow" button for a few seconds, you can send it in a fun format like "gentle", "slam", etc. It's pretty funny to do

Do people think it's worth upgrading from M1 MBP Stock 14inch to M3? Macbooks in general are pretty expensive so I try to wait till my laptop is way too slow / about to die to upgrade but M3 looks pretty great from a performance standpoint.

Finally Apple does the right thing... Seems like they only listen when regulators breathe down their shoulder. Man it was always frustrating to text my friends with android - I love all the iMessage features and wished there was a shared protocol much earlier.
