FUCK THE 15! I'm waiting!

This will be the phone to replace my iPhone 12 Mini.

I will miss the 3x lens a lot. It’s by far the best for detailed pictures of small things. The 0.5 distorts angles if you get close for macro mode and the 1x cant get close enough without blurring the image.

Maybe finally a worth replacement for 11 Pro

I just want them to include both lenses.

It's so dumb, I can't for the life of me decide between Pro and Pro Max. The quality between 3x and 4.9x is terrible on the PM, but of course it maxes out a lot later. I don't want to think about which shots I'm taking more of, I want to be versatile. And I can't decide whether I want to miss out on zooming 10x with it still looking okay-ish, or whether I want the intermediate range to be less lossy. I'd even give up the wide angle for that, who even needs that?

Just please, give us the 3x and 5x (or potentially more if they do upgrade it) in the same phone and you'll have my money.

When will people stop using stupid zoom designations for focal lengths? There’s no such thing as „5x zoom” for a prime lens ffs

I honestly don’t want 5x. I very very rarely shoot further than 3x.. and a 5x zoom lense means that 3x zoom picture is going to worse quality.

I’m just hoping for a sensor upgrade. I like using the 3x, but it has noticeably less detail than the main camera.

Don’t love that choice. 3x zoom for me and probably a lot of people hits almost the perfect portrait focal length—77mm ff eq. This is as close as any phone gets to 85mm, a very popular choice for portraits. The 0.5x, 1x, 5x combo on the 15PM makes ~2.5-4.9x pictures look awful. It’s the reason I chose a 15 pro over the max.

Hopefully by the time I’m ready to upgrade again they figure out that a gaping hole from a wide shot to a tight telephoto is pointless for anyone who isn’t just pointing at far away things going ooooh aaaaah zoooooom. Samsung fixes it by having a 3x and 10x.

And I also hope they fix the shitty minimum focus distance on the main camera. You have to be way too far from an object to require a switch to the 0.5x…quality really suffers unless you’re practically touching the thing you’re photographing. It’s the biggest letdown compared to my old S22+.

How different is the 5x optical zoom on the 15 PM vs whatever the 15 Pro has?

I’m considering the 15 Pro so I can pass down my XS to my mom. The one thing that sucks about the XS is the inability to take low light night photos. I can’t take pictures of the moon or night sky. Zoomed phots look pretty bad too.

How much better are the 15 Pro cameras in low light? How do the cameras on the Pro vs PM compare? I don’t understand all the jargon with camera lenses and lengths.

My girlfriend has the Samsung Galaxy 23 Ultra, I have the iPhone 15 Pro, & it is absolutely bananas how much better her camera is, especially for night photography. She can take a full-frame photo of the moon & it's clean, with detail. When I try, it looks like it could be a light bulb or a golf ball.

Put as much zoom as you want the picture still looks like crap if the lighting is not perfect.

That moment... when a company worth 3.2 trillion runs out innovation. -- Let's add another megapixel and more camera features! How about fixing your leaking VPN since you're a self-proclaimed privacy company. Also, how about fixing the faulty GPS running from your "Ultra" watch. How about stopping your voyeuristic practice of routing through your "private relay" proxy and allowing wifi hotspots to take control of my wifi connection without permission due to faulty API's. How about not routing Apple data past the VPN so my ISP can see your server traffic and glean all sorts of data. How about working on Siri and Apple music too while you're at it. Apple music is dated amd siri doesn't respond upon "hey Siri" more than 50 percent of the time. How about fixing the front camera to not make me look like a fish!!

Needless to say, I'm writing this from my Samsung Galaxy, light-years ahead of Apple anything. QA fail at Apple right and left, how about you test your products before releasing them...how about you show that your products are worth the ridiculous price you charge for a pretty little kids toy. noN THERE'S an idea for ya Apple.

Not having a quality 3x-5x is a real bad decision.

Looks like the S24 Ultra will be making a change. Keeping the 3x. But switching to a 5x 2nd zoom with a much larger sensor. Allowing them to keep 12mp cropped 10x images but giving much better pictures in that 5-10x range. I think this is the best path. 3-5x is simply too useful to throw to the side.
