Even then, there are 18 year olds I've met that have the maturity of a 25 year old and 25 year olds that just don't seem to have a frontal lobe. Age is an important heuristic but certainly not the only important factor when you are thinking about emotional maturity and power dynamics in a relationship.

Generative AI and edge detection are completely different. It's like comparing using a power tool to paying a contractor. One makes your job easier and one is doing the work for you.

Yes but what people should do and what they will respond to are two different things

Depends on the situation. Meeting up with friends? I wouldn't blink at them being 10 minutes late. Opening shift at a cafe? 10 minutes would put me so far behind I'd be in big trouble.

I think their point is that it's not that Centrelink is designed around the assumption that people are welfare cheats but rather it's designed to discourage everyone as a cost saving measure.

Trans people always have the greatest insight into these issues. Thank you!

The Idaho Stop is not the same as running a red. I've been riding all my life and riding on the road since I was 12. You shouldn't run red lights; it's unpredictable and just downright dangerous if you do it at the wrong intersection.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds his personality annoying in some way I can't quite put my finger on. I suspect it's just the culture clash between my quiet Australian upbringing and his bold and brash New York personality. I also strongly agree with you that he fights the good fight and he fights it well.

There need to be alternative modes of transport that are accessible so that elderly and incompetent drivers aren't forced to engage in society via the roads.

Tell me about it. I've fixed my fair share of leaky roofs and sometimes you just make an educated guess and hope. I hate getting up into the ceiling but sometimes it's the only way to trace the water from the end point to the source. With tiled roofs however, it can be nice and obvious with something like a cracked tile or a tile that's shifted out of place.

Tiled roofs can be easy to fix especially if you have spare tiles, but you can also do repairs with silicone and/or flashtac. You'll find that the two main difficulties are accessing the roof and finding the source of the leak. If you're handy and willing to take on the (not insignificant) risk of getting on your roof you could consider doing it yourself, but otherwise you should get a professional to have a look at it.
