This moderator behavior here is exactly what you'd see on reddit lol
I use solarpunk and disappointed that it happened to you. I felt like solarpunk was the best instance Lemmy has, it feels like it has the least amount of echo chamber. Maybe I'm wrong.
I moderate my own community in solarpunk and I will try my best to not be like the moderator you talk about
Just found a really good video covering the example of what’s stopping USA to build transit projects (specifically in LA). He invited an expert suited for this topic and the points are coherent.
- US has been building highways too much, they forgot how to build proper transit
- Environmental issues being weaponized against building transits (while highways keeps getting built)
- Similarly “citizen voice” has also been weaponized, for example Ticket Master CEO try to stop subway project so that it doesn’t tunnel below his Bel Air neighborhood even though the tunnel dug very deep below surface that it won’t affect on top
Highly recommend watching this video.

The article links this: https://www.oliverwymanforum.com/mobility/urban-mobility-readiness-index.html
This year’s index has a new Technology Adoption sub-index, which assesses how prepared a city is to embrace technologies like artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicles (AVs), and air taxis.
Looks like the study isn't really about public transport. I was surprised that San Fransisco got to the first place too. But, skimming through the article it looks like the study focuses on "technology adoption". San Francisco got the first place simply because it added robotaxi. NGL, that's dumb.
It's not that good of a study IMO
Good point. Though that MSR type of reactors eliminates nuclear meltdown scenario AFAIK. So it shouldn't be as bad as Fukushima... I think?
Reminds me of Malaysia's .com.my
Noted, thanks
what's with billionaires trying to make cautionary tales real (Metaverse, etc)
also, to quote some user from Hacker News:
His company, like 9 out of 10 YC companies, is destined to fail. That is all the poetic justice you'll ever need.
I wanted something like Skyscrapercity forum but on Lemmy, or something similar to r/transit.
...
Also just wanna give Lemmy the last chance, if it turns out sucks, tbh I will leave. You already know how negative my impression of Lemmy
I know you're not the same moderator they were talking about, but I just want to make you aware of this: https://ponder.cat/comment/1193264
