This mystery "Canadian City" is Calgary. Every headline must be a riddle these days.

This feels like cherry picked examples to try and frame nutomic as being transphobic. Its always this one screenshot, of a comment made in response to something else that I have never seen posted any of the times this has been brought up. A response without context is kind of sus.

Being uninformed or misinformed is not bigotry. There was a time when I probably would have said something similar, before I learned more, and knew better. I don't think this is strong evidence of a real issue.

Until the point that he makes more questionable statements about trans or lgbtqia2s+ people, this is fine as far as I'm concerned. I don't think what I have seen so far is actionable.

Edit: from reading Ada's comments in this thread I endorse her stance.

From the very strict enforcement standards of this instance, the DM was enough to warrant a ban for nutomic, but not enough to warrant defederation for ml. That seems fine until or unless more information comes to light.

don't say radar don't say radar don't say radar "ummm yes... its carrots. Carrots, lots of carrots, that's it! Its because they... um... improve eyesight."

Did a little reading on don bacon, the representative mentioned.

He represents nebraska's 2nd district, a district where the majority voted for biden and harris. He is known for being a moderate republican who is noted for working bipartisanly. He retained his seat by a narrow 50.9%:49.1% margain.

Basically he's one of the most likely republicans to support something like this. And if viewed purely cynically, with the slim margin of victory, he has an incentive to introduce bills to nowhere like this use for the upcoming 2026 reelection campaign.

Until this bill gets cosponsors or goes for a floor vote, it doesn't indicate a breaking of ranks. He's the kind of republican who often goes against the party line.

I respect genuine neo-nazis far more than musk because they actually commit to the bit. It takes courage, and strength of character to be open and honest to the world that you're a monster.

There is nothing more pathetic than doing the nazi salute twice and denying it.

Honda has 16 factories in the us. Your next honda probably won't be affected.

Winning a point is a very low bar. You don't have to beat her. You don't have to win a set or a game. You just have to score a single point. All it takes is a single mistake from your opponent to win a point. With enough time even the best will make a mistake, and tennis matches are long.

The shortest possible game is 4 points. A set without a tie breaker has 6 games. A women's tournament match is best 2 sets of 3. So at minimum a match of tennis has 48 points. You only need one.

If you're passible enough to return the ball some of the time, and do a valid serve you will probably win a point at some point. She may be one of the best tennis players of all time, but she's not infallible. Its really unlikely she wouldn't mess up at least once.

Whenever a headline is written to imply something without saying it, don't trust it.

The words in the headline are not false, but they chose to cover this story nationally because they can write a headline that strongly implies that there was an attempt on the president's life because they know that will entice a click.

If there was evidence of the exciting implication that would be the headline.

A depressed person attempting suicide by cop isn't something relevant to a national audience, but people will click because of the headline.

Its one of the most effective ways to prevent male pattern baldness.

the transfem blahaj community has about 3,600 users, this one has about 600.

Its a pattern I've noticed on online platforms. The trans population's gender balance tends to be the opposite of the site's cis population. The fediverse seems disproportionally male generally, so it tracks.

When I discovered I was a trans woman my instinct was to look up the trans communities on the sites I already used. I didn't reevaluate my entire internet habits holistically, and switch to female dominated platforms to match my new identity. I get the impression that's what most people do.

I'm not surprised to read that bluesky has more transmasc content. Whatever platform has more cis girls will probably have more transmascs as well, at a guess.

Its probably not for the best for trans people to be on platforms dominated by opposite gendered cis people, but it seems like an inevitability of the internet.
