My not pet peeve today is little ones mum has (essentially) given the all good for little one to move to Melbourne with me so that is one gigantic hurdle cleared.

Things may change and we will discuss it more in depth later on, but for now it means I can move ahead with preliminary plans. It's a relief.

Had a great time in Melbourne. The Jurassic World exhibition was a lot of fun. Took little one into the city and the National Art Gallery which she enjoyed.

But more importantly, Slurpees were a hit and she is more convinced than ever to move back to Melbourne.

I have successfully convinced my daughter to move back to Melbourne.

And what sold her on it was Slurpees. I was telling her how good they are and now she wants to move back.

Little one bought home her fathers day gift which was a 'all about her dad' poster and she has successfully made me sound like I'm an alcoholic.

Which is super impressive because I don't even drink alcohol, lol.

After another what I thought was a good date only to be ghosted afterwards (and I waited 6 hours for them too) I am deleting dating apps. And I am deleting reddit off my phone.

No more distractions. No more external elements in life that bring me misery and depression.

Good riddance.

Terrible sleep last night (yeah we got the wind as well) blends into a terrible day (left the basket of washing outside because I'm a moron) into a terrible work day (people doing stuff they shouldn't) and tomorrow my little one is having surgery and gotta drive to Launceston and be there at 7am. It's a 2 hour drive. I'm considering seeing if I can get a last minute deal for a room.

Just put down a deposit for a wood heater for the living room.

I cannot wait for winter with a roaring fire and scary movies.

So update on that ghost from yesterday. They never came out. I checked all the rooms, no one.

It was so bizarre.

I did discover a former worker here died last year. They worked on the floor above me....

So since moving to Tassie I haven't made any real friends, but in a really weird coincidence someone who I knew because she dated a friend I played footy and cricket with (20 years ago) happened to move in to the same area as I did in Tassie not long before I moved here (5 years ago). We spoke off and on but after she found out about the break up, she invited me out to trivia night with some of her work friends. I am really really terrible socially, was super nervous, and almost bailed. But I sucked it up and went last night and actually had a really good time. I was actually social and talked to people instead of feeling like I didn't belong.

And we came third so even better.

Heading to Melbourne next week. Taking the Jetstar roulette. Last time the flight was eventually cancelled at midnight and we got put up in a hotel and slept for like 4 hours before having to be up again for the earliest flight the next morning.

Definitely hoping that isn't the case this time.

I reached out to my old primary school a week or so ago about donating my books to the school library since they are the reason I am such a big reader and wanted to be a writer. They said yes and wanted me to come in for a talk but unfortunately couldn't make it work because of pupil free day on one day and specialist classes on the other. They asked if I could come for book week which I would love but probably won't be able too. I'm really sad I couldn't do it because I've really felt a connection to my school since my little one started school and I'm now studying education for a career change.

I'm still going to drop off the books and hopefully get to see what it's like inside. Last time I was in Melbourne I drove past and it's changed so so much. It's crazy.
