The brain is constantly looking for patterns in your life. It's trying to relate events and your senses to what you normally do. It does this because it's looking to save the body energy by automating responses to triggers. (Less energy for thinking about what to do means more energy for other things.)

What this means is there are actions you take without even thinking about it. For example: when you get into your car, you may unconsciously put on your seatbelt.

The idea is that this can be applied to people because the brain finds and remembers a pattern. Replace the bell and the served food with another cue and event pair.

The Ricoh GR series has always been the sharpest, smallest, most expensive (and my favorite) point-and-shoot camera line, but with the GR IV Monochrome, the company put a dedicated monochrome sensor into its tiny body. And that changes everything~ you start to see contrast and light far more, and you can't rely on "pretty colors".

It's limiting!

Which is the opposite of what most tech aims to do these days. And I love it! But I won't be spending $2,200 on it... 'cause like who the hell has that much $$$ to drop on something that is just for fun? (if you do, hell yeah no shade, please enjoy the hell outta this camera a little extra 4me ❤️)Monochrome

The camera pics do look great, but definitely too pricey for me. I did love Becca's discussion on using limitations to spur creativity.

To qualify for the ballot, the campaign needs to turn in at least 356,958 valid signatures. Organizers said they turned in over 562,000 on Wednesday.

It's not really a win though. It just means Linux will get blocked by platforms.

Among other things, the bills would allow duplexes in single-family residential areas, lower the minimum size for housing units, and reduce lot size requirements for single-family homes.

While the bills have bipartisan support, that backing isn’t guaranteed from local government groups.

Crazy thought: What if both platforms are bad?

So sounds like their main concern is addressing the abuses of the FAANG monopolies, and only a Republican has talked to them about it.

I guess that is understandable in that very narrow lens, but it's a bit laughable considering how all the big tech companies are also cozying up to the Trump administration. All this has done for me is make me wary of anything Proton does now.

The CFPB said that medical debt is a poor predictor of an individual’s ability to repay a loan. Experian, Equifax and TransUnion, the three national credit reporting agencies, said last year that they were removing medical collections debt under $500 from U.S. consumer credit reports.

So even the credit reporting agencies are recognizing that medical debt isn't reflective of what the credit scores should be. Sounds like more evidence that there is a big problem with healthcare in this country.

Edit: I meant “credit reporting agencies” not “credit unions”

Glad he mentioned Honey/PayPal isn't the only one operating in this space. Capital One has been trying to push their program on me for quite some time.

Yoon said he had no choice but to resort to such a measure in order to safeguard free and constitutional order, saying opposition parties have taken hostage of the parliamentary process to throw the country into a crisis.

Not very familiar with the political situation in Seoul, but saying your political opponents are supporting North Korea sounds like a pretty serious accusation.

Lol and go where? From what I can tell, Canada has a housing crisis and is tilting right. Western Europe is already getting sick of immigrants and dealing with the far right.
