You can enable family sharing on your iOS devices. Like one user mentioning of all the settings you have control of, the main account holder can approve purchases being made from the app store.

I would take her into the store and have her demo the iphone models to see which best suites her. A hands on experience with the product is always the best solution to see what suites them more comfortably.

ESR makes some really good cases. Their kickstand is integrated where the camera is. You just have to pull the hinge back and it's a kickstand on landscape mode. They sell them on Amazon.
