Pushing Buttons: Is there even any point in making more powerful games consoles?

Last week, my favoured gaming news site, VGC, asked former US PlayStation boss Shawn Layden whether he thought the pursuit of more powerful consoles was still the way to go for the video games industry. I am the least technically minded games journalist I know, and have often felt as if I was in the minority. To me, games started looking pretty great about 15 years ago and most of the improvement I’ve seen since then has felt incremental. The chief technological innovation of the last 15 years in games has been VR, and that turned out to have niche appeal. Also, I hear the Guardian has a very good online games section – you should check it out some time. 🖊️️🤖

Classic JRPG Remake Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter Confirms New Script That 'Honors the Original Japanese Text'

Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter looks like a ridiculously cool remake based on everything we've seen of it so far — but some fans have long wondered whether the game will simply reuse the old localisation from when Trails in the Sky was originally brought overseas by publisher Xseed Games. As it turns out, 1st Chapter will feature a newly localised script, as per the official pre-order information from remake publisher GungHo Online Entertainment. The thing is, the old game's English script has, at times, been accused of being an inaccurate representation of the original Japanese writing. It's not what we'd call a popular complaint — we happen to think the Sky games have a largely charming localisation — but it'll be interesting to see how this reworked script compares. Indeed, GungHo specifically states: "Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter features a new localization, ensuring an authentic and engaging experience that honors the original Japanese text." 🖊️️🤖

Every Age of Empires Game Ranked, From Worst To Best

Age of Empires II: Age of Kings was the first game I have ever played on PC, so it’s no wonder this series has a special place in my heart. In this article, I’ll take a look at every Age of Empires game (Age of Mythology included), ranking them from worst to best, and exploring how each one contributed to the evolution of the series. What Age of Empires: Mobile truly is, is Return to Empire, a mobile game from 2020 with an Age of Empires II skin. Age of Empires III: Definitive EditionAge of Empires II was (and still is) a genre-defining game that surpassed every other RTS at the time it came out. Personally, I think that as soon as Age of Empires II came out, the original Age of Empires was immediately outdated in almost every aspect, bar one: it’s ancient setting and the civilizations it allowed you to take control of. 🖊️️🤖

Which Gamebook to choose? - Guide for Beginners

This list only shows books that I know a lot about or I've read This series is the grandad of Gamebooks. The lore reminds me of Warcraft, and the gameplay feels as if Diablo was shrunken down into a book Each book will feature 2 to 3 Acts, in each act, you'll have a number of quests. Cons- Book 1 is not bad, but it doesn't represent what the series has become. This book was created to be an accessible entry into Gamebooks. It might also add to the replayability of the book Each book represents a location on the world map and everything can become interconnected. Nothing in this book is complex, everything is very simple, but, well crafted. I'll also update the list below with more books as I find them 🖊️️🤖

The Brief History of Motion Sensor Aiming in Video Games

Let’s call this: “Motion Aiming” Shortly after, Nintendo released Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. until Nintendo decided to add a gyro sensor inside the controller You can jiggy the Sack-person’s booty via Motion Sensors In this mode, you can look around from Link's perspective, and motion aiming is back. One is moving the body, the other is aiming where you’re shooting. But, Breath of the Wild is where most people got introduced to Motion Aiming In the process, “Motion Aiming” got a new name: “Gyro Aiming” (also, ‘Intu-Aiming’ was merged). Future KEX Engine games after DOOM 64 added Gyro Aiming support ever since But The Last of Us kinda works but Aim Assist is in use, and Gyro Aiming doesn’t like Aim Assist 🖊️

Terms such as "buy" and "purchase" will be banned from the sale process unless sufficient caveats are added.
