Get out of here with your reason. That's not what the internet is for. Now, would you like a torch or pitchfork?
Windshear
I didn't. However, I read Lemmy until I run out of interesting posts, then switch to reddit until the ads make me angry. Then I do something productive.
Like most problems, it's all shades of grey. Is a missing plate worth a high speed chase endangering the public, probably not. Did someone kidnap someone and is running from police. Probably yes? Idk, I'm not qualified to answer.
Unless you're a farmer/rancher. Then it's a way of life.
The description is a bit off. Spensa was raised in caverns on an alien world and m-bot is (mild spoilers for skyward ahead) a ship's ai on a starfighter that crashed long ago on that world. He is hesitant to leave is position and fly/fight due to his previous owners last orders.
It's a great book and myself and my kids really enjoyed it, but I don't think it's the book OP is looking for.
Sync for reddit was a great 3rd party app for browsing reddit. Since 3rd party apps were ousted from reddit the dev repurposed his app for Lemmy. I've been using it today and so far it is fantastic. There are some ads, but at the moment it's the best Lemmy app on the market as far as UI goes imho.
Same here. Just seemed like the right choice.
I've been using the official app and reporting and blocking all the ads. This post triggered my block response.
The reasoning for it is that male chickens are near worthless. They fight and injure themselves and others. They don't taste very good and most people won't eat them therefore they aren't worth the feed to fatten them up for slaughter.
The solution is to kill them as quickly and humanely as possible. The shredder looks bad but they die instantly, no pain, no suffering. Their bodies are then used in products such as dog and cat food.
It's what happens with a small community. Interaction and discussion VS lowest common denominator humour for mass votes.
We all want Lemmy to succeed, but that only means that it'll turn back into reddit. It's the natural cycle of social media.
As someone who doesn't know, what's wrong with imgur?
Edit: Thanks for the info guys.
Where did it come from? Where did it go?
