First of all, defensive of the party vs defensive of this one action are not the same thing.

The fact that the Dems are generally fascist is why this action makes more sense than a legitimate filibuster which would be voted down by Democrats siding with the Republicans.

I'm being defensive of this specific political action because, at this moment in time, anti fascist actions by liberals is all we're going to get.

If you think that suddenly the Democrats in power will become legitimate leftists overnight you're delusional, this singular action occurring I will defend because he's successfully stalling the procedure in the Senate. I also hope other liberals will throw off their fascist tendencies and start to do the same.

But if you want to just sit there and wish really hard that they all become awakened to the cause tomorrow go ahead and live in your fantasy land.

The problem is if he did this during legislation to do an official filabuster 60 votes could vote him down and the progressive wing of the fascist party would join with the GOP to vote him down

By doing so no he's giving a "Speech" and there for can't be voted down and is wasting time

Procedure, he's not letting the Senate do anything at all. They have to sit there and do nothing until he stops.

Unlike a filibuster he can't be voted down, and he can do this as long as he's able to stand and speak.

Dude what's with everyone here. I'm not going to disagree with you, but he's doing something now. He can't change the past he's also not the monolith, hes talked about it in his speech. He heard people complain about what you're saying and he's trying to start to do something.

He even acknowledged it's not enough and his colleagues need to do more but he thought he should start somewhere because someone needs to start to disrupt shit somewhere.

I agree with your frustration and frankly on your post probably your politics as well, however if we're just gonna be doomed about everything all the time than people will think "nothing pleases these people"

Why are we not saying "yes this. more of this. Disrupt and stop all procedures every day don't let them do anything"

Legitimate question: With that being past things, where would you like the Dems to start if not by disrupting government procedures?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 9 hours ago (2 children)

If he was doing a legitimate filibuster he could be voted down (and would be voted down by the Dems) doing it this way no one can stop him, he's disrupting the whole Senate unilaterally

What's the point of this post?

Could they do more? Of course, they could always do more. But ffs someones doing SOMETHING let's just appreciate that so other can feel empowered to do something (maybe even more)

I haven't seen this that often tbh. Is there really a lot of Pro Russia sentiment?

Genuine question, is anti-nato anti-imperialism the same as "pro Russian" I'm not anti-nato however I can understand the sentiment

That's how I did it before streaming and how I do now. Fortunately I got my friends to go down this road too and we're all sorta healthier with it.

Will say, the library is an awesome resource if you start a local collection. It can be a good resource while you bridge the gaps. Most libraries also run their own streaming service for free it's not feature rich usually but ours is very simple and very stable.

Like I said generally experimenting is best. Different people have different needs :)

I've over time accumulated a record player, cassette, and CD player for my deck that I love. (I also have a decent 8-track and DCC for novelty purposes lol). It's really nice being able to go into a record store and the format not be a hindrance.

That said it's out of scope for the convo I think so I left it out. It also wasn't something I got into until I was able to acquire some disposable income as I got older. But I will say, Thrift shops and broad horizons are your friend :)
