My head voice went from "American Midwestern nonaccent" to "southern mayor in 1850" to "southern pastor giving a sermon in 1850"

Well done.

I have changed my opinion from "Janeway did nothing wrong" to "Janeway did the right thing"

It's a subtle, but important, distinction.

Unfortunately due to some temporal shenanigans, I'm stuck here without so much as a self-sealing stem bolt.

No transporter system.

Besides, why would I want to wipe my pattern buffer ~~prisoners~~ ~~guests~~ experiments?

I've seen a lot of comments on various websites lately lamenting that there isn't a judge "or somebody" that's stepping in to say "no"

Like... We're it.

The people that could have done something say back and handed the reigns over, because anything else would be "improper" and not following the rules.

And the people in the most effective positions to "fight back" in any sort of legal manner have all been rolling over like a good dog waiting for a treat, or quitting "in protest" before anything happens which just opens up a spot for a loyal stooge.

So there's nobody coming to save you as you watch from the side. We are it.

Organize with people who share similar goals. But be smart about it so you don't get raided by the alphabet squad for being ~~too supportive of black people and trans people~~ a "terrorist organization"

Be the change you want to see in the world. Because republicunts and magats are trying to ruin it before you realize you can help change it.

And when your very existence becomes illegal, why bother with the social contract at all.

Yeah, I don't believe it for a second.

A person who vaguely looks like a photo that supposedly shows the suspect (despite looking quite different from security footage of the incident) was caught with incriminating things, knowing he was being looked for?

That's about as convincing as the "Russian suicide"

Even crackhead Dave isn't that stupid and he spends his time intentionally antagonizing every cop in town.

I've had plenty of times where I get home and empty my pockets of the trash I accumulated with no can nearby.

And if I try to put something in a can and it falls out, I'm taking it with me because I didn't succeed in throwing it away.

Shrugging ans saying "well I tried" as you walk away isn't even trying.

There's a couple of these on a trail near me, and although the bollards can just be pulled out of the ground, they used to be padlocked.

Some people who use cargo bikes to shop couldn't get through, so the city removed the locks.

The bollards are still there, but if you need to get through you can just lift it out, mosey on by, and then replace it. The middle one is made out of hollow aluminum I think, so it's a lot lighter than the other solid steel ones. You can still lift those out, just not one handed.

Up until then, the cargo bikes were just hopping off the trail and cycling along next to the trail on the other side of the fence, which was only about 200-300ft long on either side of the bollards.

You joke, buuuuuuut https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2013/12/launch-code-for-us-nukes-was-00000000-for-20-years/

The USAF has denied this, multiple times.

I do not believe them.

Mainly because I know how people were during the cold war and have no doubt in my mind that the thought process was "nobody will ever access this without a reason, so let's make it super quick and easy or we might be radioactive slag before we finish typing"

The mere fact that it's believable is a problem.

Assuming you spend $10 on avocado toast every day, as well as $75 on eating out for every meal, $20 for Starbucks, and ALSO assuming you have $150 worth of monthly subscriptions:

It will take you 25 years to save one million dollars. That's assuming you never get sick, never lose a job, never need to buy a car or have major repairs, or basically any kind of surprise expense or setback that could wipe out savings.

To be the richest person on earth, you would need to save that money every year for over 6 MILLION YEARS

"Stop saying you have it good. Hundreds of people all over the world go to sleep every night deciding which country they should exploit for billions next, they have it SO MUCH BETTER than you, and to say you're happy while others have THAT to deal with is just wrong."

Sounds kinds stupid when you flip it around. Wonder why...

Everett true began in the early 1900s as in 1900-1909.

Nobody had decided to co-opt it for their shitty ideals yet.
