Perhaps Russia should stop with the tired imperialist ambitions and fully retreat out of Ukraine. NATO would likely cease existing if Russia stopped being an annoying tick on the Earth all the fuckin time.

Russia threatens nuclear war every other month, god forbid some of the countries along it’s border participate in MAD.

Well that’s what I mean by “good faith participation” — usually that includes showing off what you are doing/creating to a community you are a part of.

The problem, that you acknowledge, is that some businesses (in reality a majority) do purely advertisements. It is indeed a slippery slope.

However, I’ve seen small businesses/individuals post content that gets praised by the general population of a community and then people start asking “Hey, where’d you get that? Where can I get that?” And then the OP is like “Well I actually make it myself, I sell them as a business but also engage in the hobby myself”. THAT is the most successful way I have seen a business interact in an online forum.

I shouldn’t be required to take extra steps to mute advertisements I didn’t ask for, consent to, or otherwise search for.

If small businesses want their own instances, that’s in their power to do so, willing participation in those instances will be difficult to accumulate I suspect.

They should leave it alone. I don’t want to see ads everywhere or worse, ads disguised as content. Reddit has been going to shit due to, in part, the rampant commercialization of the platform.

If a post puts out a call asking for a product that your SB can provide, feel free to post that you have the answer. Beyond that, don’t inundate us with attempts to see your product.

Edit: That said, I do agree with the other commenter who says be an easy-to-contact support account.

You work with model train products it seems, so good-faith, non-advertising participation in such communities is the best way to engage. That’ll do more for your branding, reputation, and business profits that shoehorning ads in.

Wtf is a “pre-seed founder”?

I’m stalwart enough in my leftism that anything that corpos love makes me question it immediately. I’ve nothing inherent against immigrants/refugees who come here through the (very flawed) process or even those who don’t but come here, integrate, and then contribute/participate positively within the communities they immigrate to.

However, the H1B shit just seems to a) exploit minorities/immigrants while holding their visa over their head (dems shouldn’t like this based on their principles) while b) outsources jobs that could likely be given to existing, qualified citizens (republicans shouldn’t this based on their principles), c) all to ultimately benefit a corporation’s quarterly earnings.

I dislike Trump as much as the next guy but I don’t currently have an issue with him obliterating the H1B program.

Also a left-winger who has adopted some prepping mentality and created a “go-bag.”

In my opinion, “proper” prepping is/should be more about educating oneself, i.e. basic survival skills, navigational skills, how to find food and drinkable water, and if possible how to grow your own food and build a shelter — in essence boy scout stuff.

Once you know about the basics of survival, acquiring some essential tools (think axe, water purification tablets, and fire starter), and creating a rendezvous point with your loved ones is all that’s left.

The, usually right-winger, “preppers” are in reality just apocalypse fetishists. They buy MREs in bulk, create basements to bug-out in, and buy a stockpile of guns as if the concept of “community” will no longer exist in collapse scenario. They alienate everyone around them and focus entirely on the survival of their nuclear family with the insane belief that they could survive in a bunker under their home until chaos blows over.

Yep, my first account was made on the wrong instance and I was like “wtf is wrong with everyone here? Like I get corporations fuckin’ suck, but communism???”

They’re also HUGE babies and will claim -ism, -phobia, etc. by stretching the littlest thing.

Agree on all accounts. I got perma-banned for making fun of the conceptual average Reddit user. Now I’m here. That website is a hollow shell of what it once was.

As predicted, their stock going public INSTANTLY made the website 10x shittier. Bots, propaganda, karma-farming, tyrant power-tripping mods/admins, misinfo, and algorithmic front page is just too much.

Didn’t play the games so I have no reference, but I thought Season 1 was excellent! The third episode had me fuckin’ bawling my eyes out lol. I thought it was a stellar episode! Overall touching, wholesome, etc. The vibe Season 1 also seemed more “real” (in the event fungus zombies were to become real.).

Idk if/how much Season 2 was true to the game but I didn’t really enjoy it.

Bella’s acting fell flat imo, it seemed like she couldn’t shake being constantly awkward on screen. The story focus on Ellie’s gf’s pregnancy was weird and all of the dialogue surround it was pretty shit. I personally found it rather disjointed to have that one episode end in a stanky fingering scene — like they’d be so fuckin dirty bro, and are the characters supposed to be so naïve/ignorant that they don’t consider maybe the pregnant girl could get a very inconvenient UTI in a dangerous place? My girlfriend took personal issue with the makeup, hair, and clothing choices by the showrunners lol. It overall felt like the writers didn’t know what they wanted or what they were doing but felt as if they should shoehorn therapy-talk/themes in it at every corner.

I personally wished we got more zombies or story behind the militia group.

Good, I’d probably have done way better in high school if my phone hadn’t been there (and if I’d gotten my ADHD dX and Adderall rX back then). No reason to have them on you if you’re a student. Parents and family can call the school if there’s an emergency.

As a Gen-Z young man in the US with both a B.S. and graduate/professional degree who is unemployed — I can corroborate. I usually ponder suicide and the point of it all at least once a week while applying to jobs and being a leach off my parents for financial support. Love em for that though. If I didn’t have their emotional and financial support, I’d probably just go ahead and take that long nap lol.
