Yeah I would agree that for casual conversation Discord overtook for me. I was lurking r/warframe and after losing pc capable running game started gacha and discussed on r/Arknights. So with api fiasco I left Reddit and tried Mastodon... have account and check it out but there is no activity on #arknights , joined discord server for R/Arknights that was made during blackout and still going strong. Like I got better of R/Arknights and not on Reddit. People some use Reddit, some silently, some like me abandoned and even people who never used Reddit joined. Moderating m/Arknights on Kbin but with Kbin dev having unlucky strike and generally hopping he have health to both have normalcy and work on Kbin. So without proper mod tools and some broken features (like webp not displaying, where microblogs from Misskey converts to webp to consolidate space) and some other little wants that I would propose if I knew there would be implemented.

Using Misskey.io before it closed registration to Japanese only (happens when everyone was leaving twitter for Musk dumb thing he implemented). With Misskey at least found artists and players for Arknights but as it is Japanese instance, they only thing I can do is share art so #arknights tag weren't dead on Mastodon.social .

So TL DR left Reddit, joined sub Reddit discord server which is where I spend most of my leisure time, using Mastodon for news, Kbin for moderation (but no one visits, at least no spam as I clean up) and news , Misskey for fan art.

Misskey is microblog compared to Lemmy or Kbin , but still it's fun to use albeit more demanding on resources. While Kbin/Lemmy see karma as numbers, Mastodon (main branch) as likes, Misskey have emoji's so you can convey your feelings without making short replies.
Sure some people will say that's dumb or useless, but hey when you see some art and having only ❤️ instead of 🆒 or :cool__i: or :otoge_rank_aaa: and so on.
There is many other neat features but the main point of this comment is.
You can join in on conversation without restricting yourself to limitations imposed by soft/server one use.
Add on top that you can self host which is not for everyone but people having their whole identity tied to their own space instead of Twitter/Youtube/Twitch etc.

~~Which would be true if Misskey wouldn't send error and deny me sending message, so we still far off in that point.~~

As someone who have years in arknights gacha can say it is good. The biggest joke is that Hypergryph company behind Arknights creation is a music company and then Gacha and etc. So music direction is always great in all PV for events or character songs. I would say they first season bit lore heavy and is worst in terms of story, mostly rough start of gacha story that was revised. Second season and Third is where the peak of AK storytelling... There is a lot to cover storywise so 3rd season won't end Chapter one (out of 2 which ending soon on CN, global is behind as typical gacha but by 6 months only).
So moving away my bias as gamer and purely on anime. I would say it's decent and good if you can close your eyes on some aspects. The minus are typical anime tropes of child protagonist, amnesiac main character, child is face of the organization. Pluses would be that it is really grounded world building with big premise on suffering of incurable disease and treatment of poor/ill/different race and even specific racism against one race.
So give it a thought, if you enjoyed a bit first season then second will be even better.

Thanks for the hard work!
Even though I don't post much so mostly ignore all those messages, still it is a big problem. Until we get it sorted out having tools like these helps stop "bleeding" by people who want to use kbin.
Had few pop up on my magazine ~~even though there is barely a traction~~ but saw few times bloat when posted on other magazines which is really discouraging.

Played 1,2,4 and 5 .
Mechanics I would say I liked 4 compared to 1,2 while 5 has formula a bit reinvented so it's different at all in good and bad ways.
Story wise 1,2 and 4 are great, 5 story is meh.
So if you want to try after 4 the 5th... Just tune out of the story, it's not even close to others. Personal stories in 5 are kinda good but overall story is trash.
So yeah Valvatorez main plot is great so definitely get that one if you itching for Disgaea.

I wanted to try free tier, but amount of time spending to wait in line to play a game was too much.add in that it was laggy and you can't just leave and come back. Now they will get free ad space for people who didn't even try service yet due... Amount of wait time in line. But speaking as someone who is redirected to Russian servers by default (too small country to have local server of course). Wonder how free tier experience for others in "good" countries.

Think you should mention that self hosting is okay but you have to pay attention to plugins you use.

Everyone gives solid advice, so I will point you to trusty https://fedidb.org/software .
Mostly to see stats of Fediverse but also the soft that is available. Maybe you find one that suit you.

I saw many artists going to Misskey.io because it's main instance even English speaking ones until they gone back to twitter, stayed on Misskey or half measures. Then because of EN influx in mainly Japanese server , Misskey.io closed doors to non-Japanese add in fact that Misskey or rather any federated service can't oblige to European Union protection standard which means they can't operate in EU officially.
So I see lots of messages on Misskey about artists making blue sky accounts as well... All depends where they get more views I guess or have people supporting them around.

@Asudox

Mention work OK
Thought bot will show up on Kbin but didn't
There is some issues that some users aren't showing up on kbin.social but wanted to test it anyway.

Think important to point out
The version on GOG does not include online features. As a token of apology, we added the DLC "HIRED SWORDS DLC BUNDLE 2 - Doomweaver + Wolf-Priest of Ulric" into the base game.

【Global Launch Notice】
We are excited to break the news to you that the global version of Love Live! School idol festival 2 MIRACLE LIVE! is launching soon in February 2024.

However, we also want to inform you that, the Global Version will close its doors on May 31, 2024, and cease in-app purchases accordingly.

We appreciate the love and support you've shown, and we're committed to making these last few months an unforgettable moment.

This also means EoS for first game as well.

Want to promote our community before global anniversary starts on 16 January or later.
More active part is reddit arknights discord r/arknights discord invitation so if you want to chat with people who are still on reddit and people who aren't there anymore, this is where you meet them. Lots of activity there so if you have any game related questions someone will answer you.

Less active part is our Kbin magazine (community) at https://kbin.social/m/arknights or https://lemmy.ca/c/[email protected] /[email protected] .
Many people tried out but not many stuck with it and as there is no active communities dedicated to arknights, will try to keep our magazine up.

If you know any lemmy community dedicated to arknights then I would really appreciate if you point me to some.

Was inspired to write thread after seeing this post https://lemm.ee/post/1355047 .
I was speaking with some people in mid #redditblackout about making a hub community which aims to navigate everyone to all niche existing magazine and help out with moderation and discoverability. A magazine where only mod and moderation team of magazines subscribed under hub can promote their magazines, share experiences, giving advices with legal pitfalls.
Same idea as https://kbin.social/m/MagHub but creation of Hub would be on request to Instance owner and Joining or being kicked out will be done by Hub owner. Will try to be concise in bullet points.

  1. Search News> will show up News hub and then news magazines.
2.Allows different magazines under same name and purpose to interact with each other much easier and consolidate or diversify threads according on this interaction.
  2. Allows for more niche under niche magazines, ex Game magazine and cosplay dedicated to that game magazine, Modders only game magazine.
4.Discussions on rules, what allowed what not. Sharing ban list to prevent hitchhikers who troll and jump from magazine of same niche to other of same niche.
  3. Connect lemmy and kbin? Under one hub while under different instances. Or only kbin x with kbin y.
  4. Allows Nsfw magazines have more close interaction with Sfw, redirecting users from one to another as Sfw would more likely be more populated and stricter in rules.
  5. Allows magazines diversity on language spectrum as you will look box standard English name of the Game hub and see a magazine in your own language.

This is my intent and my driving force to use and learn Mastodon, Kbin, Misskey, Hubzilla. Have more integration between systems , consolidate while being on different instances and allows for discoverability even if federation is wonky. More interaction on same topics while not being forced to one instance magazine/community. Nurture moderation etiquette for new magazines and help with initial growth of unknown magazine. Promote niche within niche magazine while having roots and connection to main ones. Hub will be official and per request to Admin, everything under Hub are community and can join/leave/avoid depending on their stance. Allows more official sources example Minecraft official representative that was on reddit, while not to be tied to a magazine that is the biggest on Fediverse. Hub manually approve who can join, there must be system (voting? Direct addressing to instance owner?) to remove Hub owner and replace him incase of powertripping.

This is only proposal so If you like the idea or hate it you can comment accordingly. I am interested what pitfalls I don't see or understand.
