Funny you say that. I'm currently living closer to Mount Rainier, and its top 3 in the US for eruption potential. It also looks exactly like Mount Saint Helens did before it went sideways..

The name refers to the area/trail, but its called that due to the gas pipeline that runs through it. To my knowledge, none of that infrastructure actually caught on fire, but it was certainly a risk! The smoke was all from a very dry forest that lit up like a tinderbox. It was accidentally started by an unhoused man living in the surrounding woods while trying to burn toilet paper.. Since the wind speed was high that day, it spread very quickly. I watched the fire climb from the base of that peak to the top in like 30 minutes.

Shot of a huge fire in Flagstaff Arizona taken a few years ago from my work parking lot. 26,771 acres burned. The town choked on ash for 17 days before it was fully contained. Perfect storm of climate change, capitalism and high wind..

What part of the world? This guy was pretty quiet, but I heard lots of chirping around the campsite later.

Let my dogs run free on an empty beach in Baja, Mexico. They ran in circles for an hour before digging holes in the sand and napping :)

I miss it too. I used to live just north of here in Flagstaff (which is a dark sky city thankfully), and the Milky Way is still visible to the naked eye at night! Unfortunately something like 80℅ of North Americans and 60℅ of Europeans can no longer see it.. It sucks for younger generations who might not even know what's been taken from them.

^ .png of the RAW file since it wouldnt upload at full quality..

This is a long exposure taken with my Galaxy S22 ultra using the Expert RAW astrophotography mode. I think this one was 7 minutes long. The glow on the horizon is due to the epic levels of light pollution coming from Phoenix, which is nearly 100 miles south!

I brought these on sale recently. Learned about the shitty hinge quality afterwords.. For what its worth, I found this repair kit from centralsound.co, and its a solid reinforcement option. It works even on a fully broken hinge like yours. Sucks to pay an additional $40 for "premium" headphones to ensure they last beyond the warranty, but here we are..
