Getting together with some guys I was close friends with in high school, we've barely seen each other in 30 years. Im worried I'm going to feel like I disappointed them by not crushing the capitalist system and implementing luxury space communism by now.

Keep thinking of the scene in Dr Strangelove where Ripper is asking Mandrake if the Japanese tortured him (yes) and if he talked. Mandrake says "I don't think they really wanted me to talk, I think they were just having a bit of fun" really captures the imperialist mindset.
Some days at work when I'm bored I go to r/worldnews and report 4 or 5 posts for hate speech against brown people.
