I like this version the best. CW: the video has some old photos including an enslaved persons scars from lashes.

Typical North Korea propaganda, they even gave them fake (paper mache?) luggage to trick us into thinking they can afford personal items!

I have a large CRT that looks pretty good but honestly still pretty fuzzy, its been years since I tried that tho so I don't know if it would be a lot better than what I have now. Then I used a really small old ass flat screen for a while that honestly looked really good, I think just because it was so small it had to look pretty sharp. It stopped working tho :(

I have the n64 in my kitchen and use a thrift store flat screen TV I just got as both a second monitor and n64 TV. Its pretty old and has a hell of a lot of different inputs. Unfortunately the n64 looked like total shit on it... BUT I just got a s-video cable hoping it would make it a bit more bearable and at least on this TV its a huge improvement! It really fixed the image quite a bit, there's still a bit of checkerboarding with the pixels of different colours sort of hashing together instead of blurring together as they would on CRT. But its way more playable. I should try the s-video cable with the CRT sometime just for fun, but I think the reason why its such a huge improvement is mostly because the TV interpreted the composite image terribly.

All that to say, its still fuzzy as fuck, because its an n64 lol.

I've been playing my n64 a lot lately and its way fuzzier than I remember, maybe they are just trying to recapture that magic

we have a saying around here: get used to it, hitler!

was just reminded of this gem. hasn't been posted here in 6 months so a good time to watch it again

male presenting anglo canadian here, every interaction i have ever had is in some way tinged with white supremacy and male privilege. i've been treated better and assumed by default to be more competent than non-whites pretty much every day.

also like have you ever talked to another white person? if a white person or man talks to someone they assume shares their values they say the worst shit. i thought it was funny when libs were condemning trumps "locker room talk" defense like it's so unbelievable to them that men would discuss sexual assault like that in a male space. "i've never heard anything like that in a locker room." you are lying. most white men are thinking and saying the worst possible things at any given moment.

non-white people can tell by the way they are treated by white people and western society that white supremacy is the thread that binds the western world together. but if you look like them, they will just tell you straight up their terrible ideas assuming you will agree. if you cant figure it out when you actively benefit from it daily, if you cant notice that you're being held to a different standard by other white people daily, if you cant figure it out when they LOOK FOR EXCUSES TO TELL YOU, than i dunno how much self-crit is gonna help. at that point it seems like an empathy problem

if you identify as an anarchist or a communist and also identify with your whiteness, you missed something, probably a lot of things, along the way. try to be more perceptive geez.

love to my comrades of every skin colour and gender identity, death to the first world and any framework including race used to justify it

posting this here because i don't think this is what the vegan comm is for

i've already cut out most meat because of the price, but I consume a lot of dairy, particularly for protein, like cottage cheese and greek yogurt type stuff, and cheese and milk

i've been convinced that the dairy industry is evil

my problem is i'm allergic to:

lentils chickpeas peas soybeans all tree nuts peanuts

so like my protein options are basically grains, black beans and kidney beans. also pretty much every vegan alternative product contains this stuff. in particular I noticed that pea protein is being used a lot in stuff that used to have soy in it, which is even worse for me. soy sauce is ok because the protein is processed out.

anyone have any advice? dealt with this themselves? i can't really just make the same thing over and over again because i'm feeding my family too.

i already have a very good vegan chili I make and veggie soup, also I like salads but fresh vegetables are pretty expensive here.

Randy Newman had a whole era of weird satirical rock music before he was a weird satirical singer songwriter piano guy

i read that thread on lemmy.word or w/e with the person posting about how they got banned from here for supporting trans people "in the wrong way" and then i read the bit about how they were lamenting about "trans issues" are the reason why we have culture war and shouldn't focus on them.

i couldn't post there because im not making an account for lemmy.world so please just imagine i posted a good pigpoopballs in there.

thanks!
