This link should give you some idea of the bit rates to expect from purchased Movies.

Working fine here, just tried it to double check it was still working.

It’s not currently convenient to make a FaceTime call so used it within Apple Music, select the function and confirm the prompt on my phone then position in front of the tv.

I then messed around with some of the filters and moved myself from to the right and left of my seating position and the camera moved the image back to the centre of the screen.

That function only works for frame rate, you’ll still get the HDMI Handshake causing a black delay upon Dynamic Range changes.

So it all depends on what you’re watching, id guess the vast majority of what you’re watching on YouTube is SDR whereas other content outside of YouTube is possibly HDR or Dolby Vision.

It doesn’t convert, the HDR10+ metadata has to be there in the first place. Some Dolby Vision labelled movies do and some don’t, those that don’t will just play in standard HDR.

Rumour or not the fact is the iTunes Movies and iTunes TV Shows apps are being discontinued.

CheapCharts were informed a little over 12 months ago.

Under Audio and Video Format settings are you seeing that HDR10+ is an available option.

If the ATV4K has recognised the TV is compatible It’ll show 4K HDR(HDR10+) as seen here

We could also take that to another extreme with this example of Star Trek Strange New Worlds which shows as being 4KDV, yet neither iTunes/atv or Paramount+ in the UK even offer 4K at this current time.

Doesn’t always determine the available quality to purchase, take Coraline and American Psycho in the UK, they’re both 4KDV upon purchase but no quality information at all due to being available on other services that don’t offer anything other than HD.

One option is you use CheapCharts, the apps quite good in that you can filter all 4K movies as well as the recently upgraded to 4K movies.

On top of that if you’re using the app you’ll receive a notification upon any price drops.

You can use your Nintendo Switch Joycons as well as a Switch Pro Controller.

In the vast majority of cases most TVs don’t allow the functionality of controlling the volume over HDMI CEC, as you’ve already noticed it generally only works with an audio receiver in the chain.
